OR Liaison - Sterile Processing

Job Summary

The Operating Room Liaison manages the flow of materials between the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Department, serving as the point person between Operating Room and Sterile Processing Department staff and physicians to resolve issues that may arise before, during, or after a case. The Operating Room Liaison identifies opportunities for improvement based on set audits, case cart audits, and analysis of other key performance indicators. Identifies resources needed to implement new programs/procedures pertaining to surgical instrument preparation, assembly, and maintenance. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Certified Registered Central Services Technician (CRCST), and Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS).
• Three (3) years' experience in a similarly complex surgical services environment.
• Knowledge of Operating Room and Sterile Processing workflows, procedures, medical terminology, and instrumentation.
• Strong computer skills required with knowledge of an Instrument Tracking System and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
