Responsibilities

In your job, you will have the ability to make a difference in a patient's journey by:

    • Be a champion for patient safety! Conduct thorough clinical reviews of new oral oncology prescriptions, evaluating appropriateness, dosing, drug interactions, and supportive care needs.
    • Become a trusted advisor to our patients. Provide comprehensive counseling on new and existing oral oncology medications, empowering them to manage their treatment effectively.
    • Collaborate with our team to develop and implement best practices for the MID program, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards like ACHC.
    • Work alongside pharmacy technicians in processing, preparing, and dispensing medications with meticulous accuracy.
    • Ensure seamless patient care by reviewing data entry for prescriptions and providing clear, concise medication instructions.
    • Advocate for our patients by assisting with prior authorization processes, navigating appeals, and exploring financial assistance options.
    • Partner with clinic staff to troubleshoot and resolve any medication-related issues that may arise.
    • Be a valuable resource! Answer drug information questions from healthcare providers, technicians, and patients.
    • Foster open communication by interacting professionally with patients and prescribers regarding medications and treatment plans.
    • Document all actions clearly in the medical record for optimal interdepartmental collaboration.
    • Track and report on key performance metrics to measure the success of the MID program.
    • Strategize for program growth, developing a robust business plan to expand the reach of our services.
    • Be prepared to go the extra mile! Take on additional duties as assigned to support the overall success of the pharmacy.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of pharmacy and current state licensure.

Current license as a Pharmacist in state of practice.

May supervise the activities of pharmacy technicians.

What You Bring to the Team:

Oncology experience preferred, minimum 2 years

Board certification, either BCPS or BCOP preferred
