The OSP Field Engineer is responsible for field walkouts of Outside Plant (OSP) infrastructure for telecommunication networks. The incumbent will be responsible for the design of OSP networks, including fiber optic, copper, and coaxial cabling systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Field walkouts of OSP network infrastructure in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
Conduct site surveys to gather data necessary for OSP design.
Determine optimal routing for OSP networks, considering factors such as existing infrastructure, terrain, and accessibility.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure designs meet project requirements and timelines.
Participate in project planning meetings to understand project scope and objectives.
Create project documentation, including design plans, cost estimates, and project schedules.
Identify potential design issues and propose solutions to ensure network reliability.
Review and approve designs created by other designers and contractors.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, standards, and regulations related to OSP design.

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering, telecommunications, or related field.
Understanding of NESC Standards.
4+ years of experience in OSP design, with a focus on fiber optic and copper networks.
Able to be on feet for long periods of time and lift heavy objects.
Proficient in 3GIS, AGOL, Katapult, or other GIS based software.
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to OSP design.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
