School Programs Summary

The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation's work expands beyond our two museums. We are a trusted source of historical information and educational content that supports teaching and learning about key periods in early Virginia and United States history. Our Learning team is compromised of two areas of focus, one is student programs, and the other is teacher programs. Our school programs team work collaboratively with multiple teams to provide engaging educational programs for students of all diverse ages, backgrounds and knowledge.

Job Duties

Coordinates and presents effective outreach education and other programs that support the mission of the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation and its commitment to providing high quality learning experiences and engaging curriculum-aligned education programs for students."

Minimum Qualifications

Prior experience working as an educator in a classroom, museum or similar setting preferred.
Knowledge of and ability to learn different teaching methodologies, and put them into practice.
Excellent communication skills including- written, oral and active listening.
Must be able to independently manage artifact kit, weighing up to 50lbs.
Strong organizational skills, to include but not limited to managing artifact kits and completing required paperwork.
Commitment to effectively working with students and educators of diverse cultures, ages, abilities, and economic backgrounds.
Valid Driver's License.

Additional Considerations

Degree in History, Museum Education, Education or other relevant coursework preferred.
