Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nurse Practitioner to join our General Surgery team as an Overnight Acute Care NP. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive medical care to surgical patients during the overnight hours, ensuring continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and physical examinations of surgical patients admitted to the General Surgery service.
• Manage acute and chronic medical conditions, order diagnostic tests, and interpret results in collaboration with attending surgeons and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Perform minor surgical procedures, including wound care, drain removal, and suture removal, under the supervision of attending physicians.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products as prescribed, and monitor patients' responses to treatment interventions.
• Provide patient and family education regarding post-operative care, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to coordinate patient care activities, ensure timely interventions, and promote patient safety.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
• Active Maryland state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner and eligibility for prescriptive authority.
