  • 1st shift - Hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (some OT when needed (late during week or 6am-12pm on Saturday))

Job Description:
We are seeking a meticulous and safety-conscious Packaging Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for staging, filling, capping, labeling, and overpacking liquid, powder, and lyophilized products according to approved packaging specifications. You will follow strict safety and quality protocols, including FDA, ISO, and GMP procedures, to ensure the highest standards in product delivery to inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Handling:
    • Fill, cap, and label chemical products accurately.
    • Utilize electronic balances to weigh materials.
    • Manually fill liquids or powders and set up/utilize semi-automated equipment for filling.
    • Perform routine cleaning of semi-automated equipment and work in environmentally controlled areas.
    • Safely handle hazardous products and transfer bulk solutions using pumps.
    • Filter bulk materials using in-line or vacuum filters.
    • Manually torque caps and operate semi-automated cappers.
    • Hand label products when necessary and set up/operate automated labelers.
    • Assist in loading bottles and packing kits according to procedures.
    • Use material handling equipment safely to transport materials.
  • Quality and Safety Compliance:
    • Follow all quality and safety procedures consistently.
    • Don, doff, use, and clean personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Document all equipment usage and verify calibration status.
    • Identify and correct unsafe situations, and participate in safety activities.
    • Comply with ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 standards.
    • Engage in 6S activities and maintain good housekeeping.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Experience:
    • At least 3 months of experience in chemical weighing, laboratory work, filling, or packaging preferred.
    • Experience in an ISO/GMP-regulated environment is desirable.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Basic math skills, including metrics and conversions.
    • Basic computer skills and knowledge of safety rules, GMP, SOPs, and UOPs.
    • Strong hand-eye coordination, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
    • Good written and oral communication skills, with legible handwriting.
    • Ability to use hand tools and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive movements.
  • Comfort working with hazardous chemicals and human source materials.
  • Willingness to work in environments with fumes, airborne particles, and extreme temperatures.
  • Physical capability to lift/move up to 70 lbs and work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Must be able to wear protective gear, including safety shoes, aprons, gloves, and goggles.
Work Environment:
  • Exposure to reactive, toxic, or caustic conditions, non-weather related cold/heat, and vibration.
  • Regularly required to walk, reach, operate equipment, and engage in various physical activities.
