We are seeking college Civil Engineering students to apply for college intern positions for the following semesters: Summer 2024. These are 40 hr/week positions for the full semester.

Official Position Description:

This is a temporary position involving duties that will either supplement the student's major field of study and/or provide experience that is a useful addition to the student's education and meaningful preparation for future professional employment.

Under supervision & training, operates survey measuring devices (i.e., rod & prism) & instruments (e.g., transit, digital level; Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver, total station, data collector) in order to obtain survey data & calculate precise measurements (e.g., elevations, horizontal coordinates).Utilizes personal computer and various software packages used by the District, ( e.g., microstation, GPS) in the archiving of survey data. Operates state vehicle to travel to & from survey sites; clears brush & foliage from line of survey; locates &/or sets monuments, pins or stones; marks survey points for identification; takes field notes on topographic sketches; sets up traffic control (e.g., signs, cones); flags traffic through survey area.

Qualifications
Applicant MUST be enrolled in a college or university and in good academic standing, with a minimum of a 2.0 GPA.

Must show proof of valid Driver's License in order to operate state vehicles.
