The Facility Painter is a union position responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appeal of the venues through expert painting techniques and attention to detail. This position involves priming, painting, touch-ups, small drywall repairs, wallpaper installation, and wood finish touch-ups. The ideal candidate will prioritize sustainable yet effective product choices and operate painting equipment safely. Responsibilities/Essential Functions
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer.
  • Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces.
  • Perform touch-ups and small repairs to maintain painted surfaces.
  • Install and repair wallpaper as needed.
  • Touch up wood finishes on doors, trim, and other wooden surfaces.
  • Operate and maintain painting equipment, including ladders and electric lifts.
  • Adhere to safety protocols when working at heights or with equipment.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure project completion.
  • Maintain inventory of painting supplies and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Position Requirements Formal Education & Certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a painter.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training preferred.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Proficiency in painting, priming, touch-ups, and wood finishing.
  • Experience with wallpaper installation and small drywall repairs.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately.

Work Conditions
  • Work may involve climbing ladders and using electric lifts.
