Description

Tulane University School of Medicine, Section of General Internal Medicine is seeking a Palliative Care BE/BC physician to join our rapidly growing academic Palliative Medicine & Supportive Care program. Rank will be commensurate with experience. The faculty member will provide Palliative Medicine in our affiliated ambulatory clinics and hospitals with a special focus at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, LA, to assist with the development of an inpatient Palliative Medicine program. Those with experience and interest in student, resident, and fellow education desired. Tulane faculty offers excellent salary and benefits, including tuition waiver to full-time employees and immediate family members. This opportunity will provide mentorship to build a full interdisciplinary team. The Department is heavily involved in Diversity/Equity/Inclusion Councils and Committees, Quality huddles, Cancer Center expansion, and Wellness activities including Death Café. Qualifications

  • Eligible for medical license in the state of Louisiana as well as CDS and DEA required.
  • MD/DO degree from an accredited program.
  • Board Certification/Board Eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
  • Ability to work as part of a professional team and to collaborate efectively with individuals within the University as well as with outside contractors.
  • Skill in the understanding of, and sensitivity to, persons of all social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
