Overview

The MLS Legal department is seeking a Paralegal to assist the Business Affairs team with supporting commercial contracts, promotions/sweepstakes, subsidiary management and invoice administration.

Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain commercial contract templates and build guides, checklists and other materials to support MLS' business teams
  • Assist (under supervision of MLS attorneys) with templated commercial agreements, including marketing agreements, agency agreements and other vendor agreements
  • Coordinate NDA/confidentiality agreement process across multiple departments within the organization
  • Draft and review terms and conditions for League promotions and sweepstakes
  • Oversee subsidiary management, including maintaining corporate books and records and managing state corporate filings
  • Support maintenance of trademark and copyright portfolios
  • Support legal department management, including managing law firm engagement letters and coordinating legal invoices
  • Additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience at a top tier law firm and/or corporate legal department
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Paralegal certificate (or similar credential)


Required Skills
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated individual with outstanding organizational and analytical skills
  • Experience with commercial contracts and confidentiality agreements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to proofread material for grammatical or spelling errors
  • Sound business judgement, and flexibility/adaptability to prioritize, organize, manage and complete time sensitive matters without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced, team environment
  • Familiarity with invoicing systems such as Concur; project management systems such as Asana
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Commissioned New York State Notary Public


Total Rewards

Starting Base Salary $75,000 - 85,000. MLS/SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
