One year of experience in the operation and / or maintenance of a park, historic site, golf course, or recreational facility. In addition to operations and maintenance, the following types of experience are also qualifying law enforcement or security, firefighting, environmental education, environmental stewardship, natural resource management, forest management, wildlife management or preservation, or historic preservation or interpretation, OR

One year of military service in any of the military branches; OR

An Associate's or higher-level degree, or 60 credit hours of college level coursework; OR

Completion of an appropriate two-year technical / trades school program or two years' experience as a trade's assistant under the supervision of a skilled tradesperson.

*If verifiable, we will accept and prorate appropriate part-time and volunteer experience.

Duties Description Under the general supervision of higher-level personnel, the incumbent will:
• Assist with patron inquiries, complaints, questions and compliments, including trail recommendations, program information, lost and found, and information about local areas of interest.
• Help troubleshoot pay station issues and help with parking lot, main entrance services, and updating of kiosks.
• Track warehouse inventory and reorder supplies as needed.
• Complete parking lot attendance data collection and input into attendance portal.
• Check AED unit daily and prepare quarterly AED Report to sent to Heath & Safety.
• Assist with projects such as creating yearly Equestrian Tags, turtle tagging, etc.
• Patrol and help maintain trails and ensure preserve rules are being observed.
• Drive gator or trucks to attend to patron or trail response needs as necessary.
• Keep office, kitchen and bathroom clean and organized including stocking supplies and more when necessary.
• Take photos to use in Parks publications and social media and create forms, guides and other creative/informative handouts .
• Perform revenue, reconciliation, and reporting weekly, including counting and cross checking the cash in each pay station and all Point-of-sale cash, credit card, and check receipts; preparing bank deposits and delivering them to the bank weekly; and completing all associated reporting.
• Track dates on our main calendars to ensure no conflicts with our programs.
• Perform expense/invoice processing to ensure payments are completed in a timely manner.
• Process Point-of-sale transactions, including retrieving paperwork applications as necessary (Empire Pass Cards, Fishing Permits, Equestrian Permits, Film and other permits, Bus Fees), Friends of Rockefeller State Park Preserve merchandise sales.
• Coordinate with active schools to gather all relevant group running permits for track events; Communicate with head coaches and relevant point person to ensure all questions are answered, information is updated and processing is complete.
• Additional duties as needed.

Additional Comments OPERATING NEEDS:
• Must be able to work a variable schedule, including days, weekends, and holidays.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license that allows the candidate to operate a vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
• Must have the ability to perform medium physical labor.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively with other staff, park patrons and businesses.
• Must have the ability to communicate read and comprehend written material.
• Must have the ability to supervise others.
