Pay Grade: This position is an hourly position at pay grade 103.

Attendance

Rotating 40-hour work week. 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM or 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Must be available to work additional hours as needed

Overview

The objective of this position is to maintain the City's developed parkland, facilities, right of ways, and beaches.

Responsibilities

• Maintain outdoor maintenance such as litter, debris, planting, pruning, graffiti removal, landscaping and trash removal.

• Wipe down all surfaces to sterilize, fill soap dispensers, towel dispensers, toilet paper dispensers, clean mirrors, sinks, walls, toilets and urinals

• Responsible for special event set up and disassembly of equipment and conference rooms

• Responsible for patrolling gulf beach areas for sea turtle sightings during the Kemp's Ridley Nesting Season

• Immediately report all sightings and nests to supervisors

• Must be able to identify and provide location information and wait until a first responder arrives

• Must be dependable and able to withstand weather conditions like wind, rain, heat, humidity, and be able to stand for long periods of time

• May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Requires a High Schol Diploma/GED

• Minimum of six (6) months of experience

• A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered

• A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

    Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
