Partner Engineering is a highly technical team that works with our strategic partners to integrate Meta products into their mobile platforms, apps, devices as well as our AR/VR platforms. Partner Engineers bring deep technical knowledge of Android platforms to lead highly visible initiatives and launch impactful products with our strategic mobile partners.

Partner Engineer, Embedded Systems Responsibilities


  • Utilize deep expertise of the Android landscape to influence product solutions and roadmaps

  • Drive the delivery of new projects and/or systems that increase efficiency and scalability of Meta family of apps & AR/VR apps

  • Debug and troubleshoot BSP and Driver level issues

  • Specify cross-functional building blocks, acting as the technical expert, and develop the concepts for both hardware and software aspects

  • Work closely with partner technical teams to identify issues with their apps and recommend possible solutions

  • Use broad range of technical and soft skills to build productive relationships with our partners, and resolve technical and business needs

  • Cascade updates to executive stakeholders and present to audiences at internal and industry events

  • Willingness to travel for partner meetings and engagements about 10% of the time


Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience in software engineering or partner engineering.

  • 6+ years of industry experience in Android.

  • Knowledge of Android development and usage various SDKs, Frameworks and libraries.

  • Experience owning complex and ambiguous problems.

  • Expertise in AOSP (Android Open Source Platform).

  • Experience in SOC architecture.

  • Advanced software development experience in languages and environments such as Java, NDK(C++) and/or PHP.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with Hardware Peripherals (e.g. Controllers, Motion Tracking, Eye Tracking, Haptics, Spatial Audio).

  • Experience communicating with external parties.

  • Experience with technical advocacy and Kotlin.

  • Familiarity with the Android/AR/VR product development lifecycle.

  • Practical knowledge of Android hardware as an Android enthusiast.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
