For more than 90 years, the Department of Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine has provided comprehensive medical training for medical students, residents and fellows in addition to lifelong learning opportunities for practicing physicians. The department consists of 19 specialty divisions based at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health, which is ranked as one of America's Best Children's Hospitals in 10 out of 10 specialties in U.S. News and World Report.

The Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at IU School of Medicine is an integral part of Indiana's only quaternary care pediatric hospital, Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health. The highly trained sub-specialists intensivists in this pediatrics specialty team are prepared to intervene at the most critical moment of a family's life journey, when their child's life hangs in the balance. Patients from across the state of Indiana are transported here for interventions, procedures and treatment that other hospitals are not equipped to perform. The Children's Hospital Association names Riley Hospital as having one of the highest acuity patient mixes in the United States.

Job Summary
  • Supports the Pediatric Critical Care Division Chief to manage his portfolio of pediatric critical care global health research projects.
  • Assists in maintaining and managing regulatory documentation.
  • Ensures adherence to ethical guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Prepares and submits compliance reports as needed.
  • Organizes and coordinates project activities and timelines.
  • Facilitates communication between team members and collaborators.
  • Schedules, attends, and documents project and collaborator meetings.
  • Assists in data entry and preliminary analysis.
  • Contributes to the preparation of research manuscripts.
  • Gains hands-on experience in pediatric critical care and global health research.
  • Contributes to meaningful research.
  • Works closely with leading experts in the field.
  • Opportunities for authorship depending on level of interest and involvement.
Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).
WORK EXPERIENCE

Preferred
  • Project coordination and research experience.
  • Experience or interest in pediatrics, critical care medicine, and/or global health.
SKILLS

Required
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate with international collaborators.
  • Demonstrated time management and priority setting skills.
  • Maintains a high degree of professionalism.
  • Proficient communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a high commitment to quality.
  • Proficiency at computer data entry/retrieval.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and perform concurrent tasks.
Working Conditions / Demands

The role regularly requires the ability to effectively communicate and use standard computer programs. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Work Location

Indianapolis, Indiana

This position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.

Advertised Salary

$15.00 - $23.00 per hour based on experience, skill level, education, and training.

Work Hours

16-20 hours per week.
