The Fashion Design department at Pratt Institute, located in Brooklyn, NY, is creating a pool of applicants to join our part-time faculty community.
At Pratt, we define fashion practice as cultural messaging through clothes. Students contextualize fashion within a social framework and through rigorous attention to production, craft, and contemporary aesthetics.

Pay Rate: $1,300 - $1,720 per contact hour


Qualifications

Immediate openings in construction, patternmaking and draping. We encourage applicants with experience and knowledge in the following areas of expertise:
  • Flat pattern making, three-dimensional draping and garment construction
  • Various construction techniques, finishing details and best practices
  • Experience applying technical skills to the creative process through draping, patternmaking and cutting
  • Historical and critical perspectives on contemporary fashion design, especially non-western perspectives on fashion design
  • Sustainability, materials/textiles and circular design practices
  • Digital design literacy, CAD technology / CLO3D
