The Office of Finance, Administration, and Budget (FAB) supports fiscal management, budget development, decision-support analytics, and strategic planning for the IU Bloomington campus. FAB also oversees all units of Campus Auxiliaries, which includes IU Dining & Hospitality (residential and retail dining, IU Catering, IU's hotel, The Vault Pub/all dining in the IMU); Transportation (Campus Bus, Fleet Services, Parking Operations, Transportation Demand Management); Printing, Campus Mail, and Document services; IU Surplus and IU Warehouse; Early Childhood Education, and Residential Operations/building maintenance.

Job Summary
  • Writes feature stories, announcements, news releases, and social posts.
  • Captures and edits photo and video for use on websites, presentations, printed reports, social media, and advertisements.
  • Conducts market research to identify methods and styles of communication preferred by target audiences.
  • Follows WCMS training, makes text edits to websites and adds events to Office of Finance, Administration, and Budget campus events calendar.
  • Works on special projects and helps brainstorm ideas to reach various audiences.
  • Researches and writes internal communications pieces to unite and inform Finance and Budget employees and campuswide stakeholders.
  • Works in close collaboration with Campus Auxiliaries Marketing team, particularly its interns, toward shared vision.
  • Helps tell the story of the students, faculty, staff whose work translates into the IUB campus experience through compelling words, images, and videos.
  • Helps highlight new services and offerings to an array of target audiences.
Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required
  • Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University.
SKILLS

Required
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer-service oriented.
  • Proven photo/video experience.
  • Proficiently shooting and editing photo and video (for websites, LinkedIn, presentations, newsletters, social media campaigns, ads, and more)
Preferred
  • Graphic design skills
  • Ability to accept feedback and work well individually and as part of a team.
  • Adept at writing stories and announcements
Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. This role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 10 pounds. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Additional Information

Training will be provided on Web content management and optional training on email marketing (Salesforce) will be available.
