Pathologist Assistant - Lab Hist/Pathology

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under general supervision of the Anatomic Pathology Manager, assists in surgical and autopsy pathology as required. The pathologists' assistant dissects and dictates descriptions of surgical specimens, and works independently in cooperation with CVPH laboratory medical director and staff pathologists.
Candidates who are licensed cytotechnologists and histotechnologists technologists will perform to the level of their experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Skills Required:
1. Bachelor's Degree required.
2. Must meet current New York State Requirements for registration or licensure.
3. ASCP Board Certification as Pathologists' Assistant required.

As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
