Supports patient care delivery in the areas of Specialty scheduling while maintaining work ques and supporting team.

This position is full-time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules 7:30am - 7:30pm CST, Monday - Friday and a weekend rotation once every 8 weeks (Saturday: 8:00am - 12:00pm CST) in the Care Access Center for our Specialty department.

We offer 6 - 8 weeks of paid training. The hours of the training will be Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30pm CST.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Greets visitors and patients by telephone, upholding excellent customer service
  • Enters and updates patient demographic, insurance and financial information, ensuring the patient is fully registered as early in the process as possible
  • Provides patients with financial responsibility information and collects patient liabilities, documents amounts in the appropriate fields, and balances the cash box daily
  • Works with partnering departments (Insurance Verification Department and Clinical Departments) to ensure all aspects of the patient's encounter are completed as needed
  • Provides pertinent scheduling instructions and assists with questions regarding wayfinding
  • Meets or exceeds mandatory metric compliancy and communicates with team and leadership
  • Works work ques and outbound calls as assigned
  • May perform other duties upon request

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of customer service experience
  • 2+ years of scheduling experience
  • Beginner level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work anytime between 7:30am to 7:30pm CST, Monday - Friday
  • Ability to work a weekend rotation once every 8 weeks (Saturday: 8:00am - 12:00pm CST)
  • Must be 18 years or older

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a medical reception
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience with electronic medical records system

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast paced environments
