Basic Function: Ensures all current demographic and insurance information is obtained and verified for the purpose of accurate and timely billing of third-party payers and/or patients. Captures all pertinent data into the patient management system including CPTs and ICD-9s and completion of MSPs to facitate the flow of patient information and financial data to other departments, patient accounting and billing/follow up system applications. Collects co-pays and deductibles and screens for financial assistance when applicable. This applies to inpatients, scheduled outpatients.

Position Requirements

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization. Medical Terminology Other Requirements: Two years Patient Access or Customer Service backgound. Previous experience in a related medical setting may be acceptable. Strong human services background required.

Preferred Requirements

Ability to work varied shifts to include days, afternoons, nights and/or weekends and holidays. The flexibility to cover shifts that the representative is not scheduled for.
