Job Summary

Under general supervision of the Patient Access Manager, follows established policies and procedures; assists the Manager and supervises staff with the scheduling, pre-registration, insurance processes, collections of patient financial responsibility for all scheduled and unscheduled hospital services/stays. Monitors and evaluates work flow and the quality of the completed accounts. Demonstrates expertise with all proficiencies of a PAS 3. Responsible for scheduling staff and completing annual evaluations. Approves self-pay pricing. Recognizes and adheres to all CMS, JCAHO, and HIPAA requirements when validating the hospital account. Works directly with nurses, medical staff, ancillary departments, insurance carriers, care management/utilization, HIMS, scheduling, and other external professionals to assist staff/patients with obtaining health care and financial services. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Minimum of AA degree/clinical degree or professional certification OR (5) five years of related experience in a supervisory role in a healthcare setting.
  • Moderate expertise with complex computer programs/functions in order to enter data, run queries, synthesize results in order to evaluate processes and identify changes.
