The Opportunity: Patient Care Associate - Gynecology/ Surgery Unit- Phillips 22

Why This Role Is Important?

Phillips House 22 is a 19-bed adult inpatient care unit dedicated to the care of patients and families from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds with sophisticated needs and problems associated with benign and malignant gynecologic conditions. Under the direction of a registered nurse (RN), the PCA assists the multi-disciplinary health care team in clinical support functions to promote a safe, detailed, patient care environment. Phillips 22 is seeking a per diem PCA, with Day, Evening and or Night availability, and to provide rotating weekend and holiday coverage.

Schedule

  • Day (7am-3pm / 7am-7pm), Evening (3pm-11pm), and Night (7pm-7am, 11pm-7a)
  • Rotational holiday and weekend schedule


What are we looking for?

  • PCA assists patients with daily living needs, supervising & reading vital signs, drawing blood, and acquiring EKGs. Responds to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, supervising patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner.

Qualifications

  • Required: Must have recent experience, and/or training, in clinical patient care.
  • Preferred: Licensed, certified or enrolled student in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT accredited program, at the time of hire, OR
  • Candidate enrolled in a Nursing, Pre-Med, PA undergraduate program, with at least one semester of patient care rotations completed, at time of hire.
