Summary

Under direct supervision from a registered nurse or other designated supervisor, provides direct patient care, clerical support and miscellaneous technical support by performing delegated procedures of a specialized and technical nature, which may include:
  • Obtaining hemodynamic measurements
  • Setting up and maintaining specialized clinical equipment
  • Performing delegated clinical or laboratory procedures
  • Assisting with patient registration
  • Scheduling Patients for Return Visits within MiChart
  • Schedule Recuring visits within MiChart
  • Disinfect clinic rooms and stations between patients following CMS guidelineUnder FLSA
  • Answering and triaging phone calls to the unit
  • Ordering supplies and maintaining unit stock and data entry
  • Incumbents in this position are nonexempt.

Required Qualifications*

  • A high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Direct pediatric patient care experience
  • Independent, self-directed work style
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a team
  • Solid attendance records
  • Proficient with computers and ability to learn new programs
  • Demonstrated customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Strong medical terminology


Desired Qualifications*

  • Graduate of a medical assistant program
  • Knowledge of UMHS policies and procedures
  • Associates degree or higher in health related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Michart experience
  • Dialysis experience


Work Schedule

NOTE: Monday - Friday position 40hrs/wk.

May be asked to cover Saturdays and/or Holidays
