Summary
  • Position Summary
    • Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and according to defined policies and procedures, performs various service duties and technical tasks. Specific duties may vary by area of assignment. Consideration of the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations is required
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: High School diploma or HISET preferred.
    • License/Certifications: Must be certified as a Nursing Assistant by State of Maine and be on the State of Maine Registry.
    • Experience: Minimum of 1 year in practice as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) (2 years preferred) and in good standing with the State of Maine CNA Registry.
    • Ability to read, write and speak English in order to follow simple oral and written instructions and complete standard forms and to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other medical center staff and respond to basic questions.
    • Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information and maintain courteous relationships with patients, families, visitors, and Maine Medical Center employees
    • Ability to prioritize and multitask
    • Ability to demonstrate basic knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to use them in routine situations
    • Meet performance criteria equivalent to a CNA III
    • Consistently models high standards of practice, accountability, and professional attitude
    • Successful completion of the Maine Medical Center Patient Care Technician program
    • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Word and Epic
