Description

Job Summary:       

Assists patients to exam/procedure rooms following standard work procedures.

Obtains patient-reported medical and social history, vital signs, height and weight, patient-reported allergy information, and medication reconciliation information as needed, and records data in EHR (Electronic Health Record).

Transcribes orders into the EHR, including films, x-rays, labs, and other studies accurately and in a timely manner.

Processes patient referrals to other provider offices efficiently.

Prepares patient EMR charts accurately and promptly.

Gathers reports, labs, studies, or other pertinent data for upcoming patient appointments.

Faxes and copies necessary information to insurance companies, other provider offices, and facilities as required.

Records information accurately and promptly in the EHR.

Takes phone messages professionally and efficiently.

Prepares clinic charts in an organized manner.

Manages in-basket messages and work queues effectively.

Utilizes free time efficiently to clean and stock rooms, copy documents, and file paperwork.
