JOB SUMMARY:

Pre-register/register patients entering the Emergency Dept. Practice precision with data-collection/data-entry. Exceptional communication and follow-up with provider/physician offices via email and phone correspondence. Ability to multi-task, coordinate and work well with other departments.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum two years in hospital registration experience preferred.

• Minimum two years scheduling and medical insurance verification experience required.

• Experienced in a medical customer service environment required.

• Experience in handling/balancing cash required.

• Knowledge of surgical procedures and medical terminology preferred.

• Able to operate common computer software systems, utilizing both hospital and business software.

License and Certifications:

What you will do (Roles and Responsibilities):

• Responsible for timely, accurate, and complete patient registration.

• Registers and discharges patients appropriately from the Medhost system.

• Collects and posts patient Point of Service payments and provides notification of patient arrivals to appropriate units.

• Works in cooperation with physician's offices to schedule Cath-lab, diagnostic procedures, sleep lab, and pulmonary function testing.

• Communicates with physician offices to redirect services as necessary.
