The community you'll be caring for: 301 MEMORIAL MEDICAL PKWY, Daytona Beach, FL

The role you'll contribute: Responsible for the effective daily coordination and monitoring of Patient Transportation services. Timely and accurate dispatch and management of patient transportation requests and efficient assignment of transport personnel.

• Resolves problems related to patient, visitor, staff or employee complaints; resolves problems associated with Patient Transport Services; recommends and participates in the solution of on-going problems or trends.

• Understands and applies knowledge of basic patient transport concepts, infection control practices, and proper body mechanics.

• Acts as a transporter when necessary.

• Maintains professionalism at all times and knows how to diffuse high-tension situations.

• Utilizes effective dispatching logic in prioritizing tasks, dispatching assignments to the appropriate transport personnel in order of availability and proximity while maximizing productivity.

• Drives quality and continuously improves departmental performance through effectively monitoring task and personnel status in accordance with quality standards and budgetary objectives.

• Identifies problems, conducts research, resolves or makes recommendations to direct reports.

• Maintains a safe, healthy, orderly and pleasant work environment for staff; ensures dispatch equipment is safe and in good, clean working condition; provides and maintains adequate levels of supplies and equipment.

• Notifies supervisor or manager of potential situations and unreasonable response times.

• Ensures compliance with policies and procedures for departmental operations.

• Manages the Patient Transportation Department in Operations Manager's or Supervisor's absence if required.

• Assists in obtaining statistical information for administrative, operational and regulatory purposes.

• Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies including but not limited to Federal, State, JCAHO, OSHA, and CDC.

• Assists in orienting, training and developing all levels of personnel.

• Motivates staff to function as a team in achieving goals and maximum productivity.

• Assists in scheduling paid time off and other benefit time; ensures adherence to departmental staffing guidelines on a daily basis; ensures adequate staffing levels are maintained; ensures accuracy of all appropriate records and time sheets; assigns transport personnel to stationed/zoned areas.

• Ensures proper operation of all technology and software programs, including pager and phone handling systems.

• Is able to troubleshoot and work with Information Systems and Information Technology teams when necessary to resolve any issues.

• Prints reports when requested. Functions as a liaison between Patient Transportation and other departments. Records all non-operational actions in "Daily Shift Log.".

• Assigns, collect and/or distributes pagers; monitors daily sign-in/out procedures.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma

• Effective verbal and listening communication skills.

• Computer skills

• Service/Quality focused to meet a wide range of needs.

• Able to navigate to/from various locations throughout the facility.

• Problem solver that can think quickly in cases of emergencies or unusual situations.

• Able to multi-task and work at a fast pace.

PREFERRED:

• 2 years of Patient Transportation experience

• Associate's Degree in Business Administration
