Shift: Full-Time, Varied shifts Monday to Sunday

Your role
  • Articulates comprehensive knowledge of general and specialized Transportation practices and performs and demonstrates to others.
  • Flexible to make changes as deemed necessary, i.e. schedule adjustment, or floating
  • Coordinates all programs related to transportation department
  • Regularly meets with customers about customer service (i.e. surveys)
  • Takes charge and responds appropriately to unexpected situations
  • Uses correct tone of voice, stance and non-defensive/offensive language
  • Will coordinate calls, maximizing efficiency by routing the closest transporter with the appropriate equipment
  • Facilitates incoming Transporter calls to assign/update/review calls
  • Maintains a minimal dispatch time for campus assigned throughout shift as set by management team
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Qualifications
What You Will Need to Be Successful:

Required:
  • People Skills: Ability to understand customers' needs and respond to them in a pro-active, courteous, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, speak appropriately in English using good diction, and respond to people's needs in a pleasant and courteous way as perceived by the customer.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to operate stretchers, beds, and wheelchairs. For cost center 9623 must be able to type at least 20 wpm.

Preferred:
  • Ability to input data in a timely manner.
  • Management potential, and ability to accept responsibility, exercise authority and function independently using effective written and verbal communications.
  • Ability to work well with others, using tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to accept direction and respond to ever-changing matrix of Hospital needs.
  • Ability to use discretion when discussing confidential personnel related issues
  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Associate degree in business, healthcare, or related field, OR two years supervisory experience

The Patient Transportation Supervisor supervises, promotes, and coordinates the operations of the Transportation Department in a manner that will optimize efficiency, help achieve the mission and goals of the department and Hospital, reduce costs, and result in outstanding customer service. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
