This is a Full-Time (72 hours per pay period) position with 12-hour DAY shift schedule on variable days of the week, that includes weekend and holiday rotation.

The Medical Acute 2 North team is seeking a Patient Care Assistant who is self-motivated and committed to providing exceptional patient care. In this role you will be assisting patients with their activities of daily living, performing vital signs, and performing EKGs. This 37 bed unit primarily hosts a post-operative patient population with medical overflow. We are looking for someone who can work efficiently and collaborate as a team.
The duties of the Patient Care Assistant include:
• Provides excellent service to patients as a key member of the clinical care team
• Assists patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, collects data, and ensures the patient has a safe, organized environment
• Assists with patient care within the scope permitted and under the direction of a clinician
• Supports the unit with a variety of patient logistic, clerical, equipment/supply, and charge reconciliation duties
Qualifications
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certifications: :
• CNA certification
• Multiple patient care skills preferred
• Preferred one year acute care experience
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
• One year of recent experience working under the license of an licensed healthcare provider OR current enrollment or completion of Nursing Assistant training from a recognized school OR current enrollment in an RN program with completion of the second semester, including nursing fundamentals
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Provider
• Must be able to speak, read and follow instruction in English
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a service aptitude
