Job Description :
To assume responsibility for certain technical aspects of patient care as directed by the RN/LPN for the hospital. To obtain and record vitals, weight, inputs and outputs. To successfully complete an in-house PCT training program. To demonstrate an awareness of patient and personal safety.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist patient with everyday needs, including bathing, restroom/bedpan assistance, etc.
  • To assume responsibility for certain technical aspects of patient care as directed by the RN/LPN for the hospital
  • Monitor vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respirations, weights, input and outputs)
  • Obtain EKGs
  • Draw blood and perform finger sticks
  • Obtain fluid samples or other specimens for testing
  • Assist nursing staff in administering basic treatments
  • Notify nursing staff of any issues or concerns
  • Keep patient rooms clean and sanitized
  • Ensure rooms have adequate patient care supplies
  • Assist patients with particular issues or needs
  • Provide appropriate emotional support

  • Work as a part of the health care team
  • Successful completion of PCT orientation
  • CPR certified within 30 days of employment


Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required. Certified with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within thirty (30) days of date of employment required.
