It requires the ability to move objects and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and the ability to discern between various objects and devices and to position patients. Job Summary
- Assists with patient care including setting up instruments, supplies, and materials for necessary procedures
- Sits chair-side to pass instruments and supports direct patient care as indicated by procedure
- Complies with infection control procedures by stripping, disinfecting, and bagging unit after patient care provided
- Enters findings and procedure information in patient chart as directed by faculty and students and reviews entries to ensure accuracy
- Requests instruments and supplies from other departments as directed by coordinator
- Inventories and restocks supplies (all) and instruments

- Completion of an accredited dental assisting training program; OR
- 6 months of dental assisting experience

- Radiology License upon date of hire

- Possesses strong technical aptitude

- Ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities
EDUCATION

- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)

- 1 year of assisting in applicable specialty dental assisting

- Indiana X-Ray License upon date of hire
- Dental Assistant Certification upon date of hire
