Job Description:
The University of Florida, Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) Fellowship Program Director. The Program Director will lead our dynamic and innovative fellowship program and will be responsible for overseeing the recruitment, training, and evaluation of fellows, developing and implementing a stimulating curriculum that meets ACGME guidelines, and mentoring faculty members to ensure the program operates at its highest potential. The successful candidate will hold a non-tenure accruing, full-time position at the rank of Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor. This appointment will require a .15 FTE associated with the Program Director role.
The UF Pediatric Emergency Department is an integral part of UF Health Shands Children's Hospital, the #1 rated children's hospital in Florida and one of the top five in the Southeastern United States according to US News & World Report. Our Pediatric ER sees over 24,000 patients per year and sponsors a pediatric emergency medicine fellowship. Our faculty provide critical bedside, didactic, and simulation training for pediatric and emergency medicine residents, medical students, and advanced practice providers. Individual faculty engage in federally funded research studies and hold leadership positions within the UF College of Medicine.
The UF department of emergency medicine is affiliated with UF Health Shands Hospital, 1,162 bed teaching hospital with a Level 1 trauma center and burn center, and is the major referral center for North Central Florida.
