Description

The University of Chicago's Department of Pediatrics, Section of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, in the Biological Sciences Division is searching for an associate or full professor. As a full-time faculty member, the appointee will contribute to patient care (including care of COVID-19 patients), medical education, and scholarship, and join a vibrant and distinguished community of faculty colleagues and learners in UChicago Medicine, the Biological Sciences Division, the Pritzker School of Medicine, and the University of Chicago and its affiliates. As Section Chief, the appointee will lead the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Section with the overarching goal of enhancing its clinical and academic excellence. We especially welcome applicants who are accomplished program builders and leaders with strong administrative, operational, and financial knowledge and collaborative skills, and experienced mentors willing to pursue the strong opportunities for academic and clinical development of the faculty and staff of the Section and the Emergency Room. Additionally, we welcome applicants with clinical research experience, leading clinical trials, quality and/or health outcomes, investigator-initiated clinical trials, and/or multi-center IRB approved studies.

UChicago Medicine has been at the forefront of medical care since 1927. Located in historic Hyde Park, the primary medical campus includes the Center for Care and Discovery, Comer Children's Hospital, Bernard A. Mitchell Hospital for adult inpatient care, and the Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine (DCAM) totaling more than 550 beds in service and net patient care revenues over $1.4 billion.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a MD or equivalent, 2) be Board certified in Pediatrics or Emergency Medicine, and 3) be Board certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
