Description

The University of Chicago's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience is searching for a full-time faculty member at any rank. The appointee will provide assessment, diagnostic, and consulting neuropsychological services to children, adolescents, and emerging adults presenting with medical illnesses (e.g., cancers, brain tumors, epilepsies, diabetes), neurodevelopmental and neurogenetic disorders (e.g., intellectual disability syndromes, ASD, NF-1), and comorbid psychiatric conditions in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.

The Neuropsychology Program at the University of Chicago is both regionally and nationally recognized for its training, research, and clinical care. The Section of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is highly interdisciplinary in its care, and neuropsychology faculty actively contribute to and collaborate with the Consultation/Liaison, Neurodevelopmental, Trauma, and Psychotherapy programs within the section. Pediatric Neuropsychology consults to the pediatric care teams within Comer Children's Hospital, including Pediatric Neurology, Neurosurgery, Hematology/Oncology, Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Infectious Disease, and Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. Our Clinical Psychology program, based in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience at UChicago Medicine, is integrated within the interdisciplinary educational, research, and clinical missions of the Department and the larger Medical Center.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) hold a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited University-based training program, with appropriate coursework and predoctoral training consistent with Pediatric Neuropsychology, 2) hold or be eligible for an Illinois license in Clinical Psychology, 3) be Board certified or eligible in Clinical Neuropsychology with a Pediatric subspecialization (ABPP/ABCN), 4) have completed an internship at an APA-accredited medical center based program, with primary training in Pediatric Neuropsychology and Pediatric or Child Clinical Psychology, and 5) have completed an International Neuropsychological Society/APA Society for Clinical Neuropsychology-oriented postdoctoral fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology.
