Local travel may be required and minimal travel to Sacramento may be required.
This position will be located at the assigned local treatment facility located in North Hollywood.

This is a 12 month limited term position that may be extended and/or may become permanent pending budget approval.

COVID-19 Impacts to Working at DOR

The Integrating Employment in Recovery Program is a pilot program that will promote employment services in substance use treatment. This will be accomplished through training and the embedding of vocational rehabilitation staff into specific substance use treatment centers in the state of California.

Under the direct supervision of the Staff Services Manager I, Manager of Integrating Employment in Recovery (IER) section, the Staff Services Analyst / Peer Support Specialist works with the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) and local partner agency staff in the development of the IER program and staff support of Substance Use Programs who are providing treatment to program participants.

In addition to being a member of the DOR Integrating Employment in Recovery team, this professional will work in collaboration with staff from substance use treatment facilities, state and local agencies, consumers, DOR and the evaluation team. The IER Peer Support Specialist performs employment/placement activities, employment preparation skills, marketing to increase employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities and peer mentoring activities for adult individuals who are in treatment for substance use disorders.
