The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD ("The HARRIS CENTER") is looking for a Performance Improvement Specialist. Under the direction of the Director of Performance Improvement, the Performance Improvement Specialist (PI Specialist) conducts performance improvement activities and studies. The PI Specialist is familiar with performance improvement models, tools, and strategies. The PI Specialist will prepare performance improvement reports, manage special projects as assigned, attend meetings, make presentations to staff, and perform other performance improvement related duties as assigned.

What you will do:
  • Proficient in reviewing and synthesizing mental health care literature and suggesting recommendations and drafting reports based on study findings.
  • Proficient in using statistical software to evaluate a wide array of data types and to perform analyses according to analysis plans.
  • Upon request, assists in developing performance improvement strategies, determining sample sizes, and tracking and evaluating patterns of mental health care and outcomes.
  • Verifies and ensures the accuracy of all assigned tasks, including documentation of all kinds.
  • Identifies problem areas and develops solutions by working with appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in performance improvement meetings; reports project progress and results to staff.
  • Attends and participates in performance improvement project, staff, and training meetings.
  • Works actively with clinical and non-clinical teams to identify areas for performance improvement and workflow effectiveness.
  • Identifies and recommends appropriate methods for monitoring ongoing performance improvement efforts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


What qualifications you will need:

Education:
  • Master's degree in psychology, sociology, social work, public health, nursing or other social science/healthcare related disciple.


Experience:

  • Minimum of two years experience in quality/performance improvement, program evaluation and data analysis.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Solid organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Mathematics Ability: Able to understand basic statistical reports including frequency distributions, reliability and validity test, normal curve, and sampling theory.
  • Language Ability: Ability to read scientific and technical journals, abstract, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to prepare articles, abstracts, editorials, journals, manual, and critiques. Ability to prepare and make comprehensive presentation.
  • Must have the ability to work collaboratively with other professional groups and possess the skill in preparing reports and recommendations for administrative purposes.
