Shifts are generally 6pm-10pm and/or 12:30pm-4:30pm on weekends.
Pay Rate $15.50/hour Minimum Experience/Education
High School Diploma.
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:
Must have excellent customer service skills, an outgoing and positive attitude, and the ability to work well under pressure. Must be reliable, professional, responsible, and a good leader. A background in Box Office or House Management is preferred. Interest in the performing arts preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
Seeking House Manager for the Performing Arts at UNC Charlotte College of Arts + Architecture. The House Manager's primary responsibility is to oversee all aspects of Front-of-House operations during music, theatre, and dance performances. Duties include: Preparing the lobby and theater for a performance, managing and training student ushers, supervising audience seating, communicating with production staff to ensure timely starts and intermissions, maintaining the safety and comfort of all patrons and upholding the highest level of customer service.
Other Work/Responsibilities
Other responsibilities include working with the box office staff to address any patron complaints or ticketing issues, handling any issues that arise during performances such as cellphone usage or photography, and securing the building at the close of every shift.

Evening and weekend work is required during the academic year. Must have a flexible schedule. The House Manager reports to the Audience Services Manager.

*Temporary staff employees are ineligible to receive benefits (leave, health coverage, State service credit, etc.). They are, however, covered by Worker's Compensation provisions.

However, any non-permanent employee hired to work 30 or more hours per week for three months or more (cumulative of all positions, and not designated as variable hour worker), must be offered the chance to enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan, within 30 days of their eligibility. Any non-permanent employee hired to work less than 30 hours per week (cumulative of all positions, or designated as variable hour worker - i.e. student workers) are measured during designated measurement periods. If they average 30 or more hours per week over a designated measurement period, they will be offered the chance to enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan, and will be notified of instructions.
