Peri-Op 101 Program

Schedule: 36-hours, day/evening shift, two 8-hour and two 10-hour shifts, (call required once program completed)

We're looking for RNs - experienced and new grads - who want to explore a career path here at BWFH in the Operating Room. We are offering comprehensive on the job training through the Association of PeriOperative Registered Nurses' Peri-Op 101 core curriculum starting in early 2025. Commitment to stay in a full-time position in the OR at BWFH for two years following completion of the program is required.

The Registered Nurse is a professional nurse registered in Massachusetts who is responsible and accountable for planning and providing patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care as set forth in the Nursing Department's Clinical Practice Manual. The registered nurse demonstrates initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for the patient with complex needs. The Registered Nurse demonstrates the ability to effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of patient care and is directly responsible to a designated Nursing Director, or supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Massachusetts Registered Nurse Licensure required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. CNOR preferred.
  • New nursing graduates welcome.
  • Adheres to all I.C.A.R.E. standards.
  • Must demonstrate observational skills and the ability to set priorities.
  • Must be able to function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate effective skills in applying hospital standards in area of service, teamwork, communication, respect for others, and time/priority management.
