Description

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Personnel Security Specialist to work in our Badging and Clearances department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Central Facilities with every Friday off.

You will perform various roles including badge issuance, clearance processing, subcontractor processing, new employee onboarding and terminations, and assisting employees and subcontractors with completion of government forms. You will report directly to the Manager of the Badging and Clearances department.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain proficiencies in other personnel security functions to provide in-depth support for the Safeguards and Security organization.
  • Issue security credentials, permits, and provide keycard and database input for the INL access control systems. Ensure that all inactive and lost badges are removed from the keycard system.
  • Oversee responsibility for badge issuance documentation for INL employees and subcontractors. Serve as a primary backup for HSPD-12 enrollment and activation badging functions.
  • Participate in clearance processing for INL employees and subcontractors as needed. Collect forms and process new requests for employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
  • Distribute program information to customers and collaborators.
  • Provide support to customers related to onboarding of new hires, subcontractors, or visitors.
  • Provide OJT for other program personnel.
  • Provide reports to Counterintelligence.
  • Maintain documentation of administrator processes.
  • Handle resolution of program reports and completion of Department of Energy (DOE) Q clearance tasks.
  • Facilitate drug/alcohol test and documentation process.
  • Initiate pre-employment background screening.
  • Handle the completion of badging, PIV, or other Personnel Security special assignments.
  • Collaborate with DOE, INL management, and personnel to effectively deal with security issues.
  • Provide effective customer service and demonstrate working knowledge of company and personnel security policies and procedures.
  • Respond quickly and to security issues and while maintaining the upmost level of confidentiality for sensitive information.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 4+ years related experience.
  • Experience and efficiency in database user functions.
  • Experience and efficiency in the current INL communications platform.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

  • Salary Grades: AS0300 - 150 (45,156 - $72,228) / AS0400 - 170 ($57,108 - $91,440)

  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
