Assists pharmacists and administrative staff in the provision of pharmaceutical care services. Responsible for participation in pharmacy operations, medication distribution, inventory control, Omnicell usage, and maintenance of personal technical competency.
Technical skills required include expertise in Omnicell use and medication preparation. Additionally, provides exemplary customer service, contributes to the efficient operation and productivity of the Pharmacy Department, and displays the interest and motivation to achieve excellence in pharmacy practice in the institutional setting.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Distribution Responsibility
1. Prepares pharmaceutical preparations in a quality manner under the direction of the pharmacist utilizing pharmacy software and hardware system
2. Performs Omnicell pharmacy function
3. Ensures functionality of barcode scanning
Inventory Responsibility
1. Ensures that drugs and supplies are available in the department and designated hospital care areas by maintaining appropriate inventorie
2. Uses cost containment measures in ordering and maintaining pharmaceutical stock
Operational Responsibility
1. Provides positive, supportive, and courteous communications to patients, families, visitors, and hospital personnel at all time
2. Completes project assignments from Management as needed
Technical Growth Responsibility
1. Maintains Pharmacy Intern licensure and documentation of hour
2. Assists in clinical programs as needed under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist
Qualifications
Education:
High school graduate, enrolled in approved School/College of Pharmacy, or an unlicensed graduate of a school of pharmacy
License:
MA Pharmacy Intern license required
Experience:
Previous experience as a pharmacy intern in a hospital setting preferred
Work Schedule:
Rotating shift including weekends and holiday
