Pharmacy Technician - Home Care Pharmacy

Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Expected Starting Salary Range: 19.73 - 24.05

A technician who assists the pharmacist in certain activities such as medication profile reviews for drug incompatibilities, typing of prescription labels, prescription packaging, handling of purchase records, and inventory control, and may, where state law and hospital policy permit, dispense drugs to patients under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

Medication Order

Assist pharmacist with communication with families, monitoring of order, dispensing, packing of medication and supplies for delivery. Performs outpatient phone triage. Performs insurance adjudication. Performs medication storage inspections.

Claims Adjudication - in dispensing system.

Compounding

Performs Sterile compounding or hazardous compounding or dispensing.

Tech Check Tech

Under authorized program is able to check the work of another pharmacy technician.

Medication Management

Manages medication doses on the nursing unit in decentralized pharmacy operations.

Phone Triage

Performs Home Care phone triage

Qualifications:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent

2 year of work experience in a related job discipline

Certified via Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)

Preferred:

Claims Adjudication Experience.
