Description

Under the general supervision of the laboratory director, the phlebotomist assumes the responsibility for performing venipuncture and related procedures such as specimen preparation for testing and transport under the philosophy, policies, and procedures established by the hospital and department. May also provide clerical and secretarial assistance.Necessary to maintain the efficient productive operation of the laboratory.

Position Requirements

Education:

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

• 3 years as a phlebotomist in a hospital setting preferred. Familiar with medical terminology.

Certifications/Licenses:

• Medical assistant or phlebotomy certification preferred
