Job Description

General Purpose of Job :

The Sales Agent Medicare is responsible for enrolling new members to PHP Medicare's Medicare Advantage plans. The MA Sales Agent is accountable for all aspects of the MA sales process including cultivating strong brand identity, working closely with community members to create trust, and closing sales. This position is responsible for adhering to CMS sales and marketing guidelines, State regulations and PHP policy and procedures. The position reports to the Manager, Medicare Sales.

Essential Duties:
    • Develops annual sales plans to maximize growth within assigned territories to meet or exceed both annual and AEP-based sales goals
    • Develops and maintains relationships potential MA beneficiaries for the purpose of enrolling them into PHP's MA products.
    • Assists in development of sales collateral materials and other marketing and communication materials as needed. Must adhere to all CMS (federal and State guidelines) and ensure compliance is all aspects of Sales and marketing activities.
    • Conducts Sales and Educational events on behalf of PHP Medicare
    • Provides individual appointments to potential beneficiaries both in-office and in-home
    • Enrolls new beneficiaries using CMS-Approved materials
    • Responsible for minimal ongoing member retention-based activities
    • Utilizes CRM database to accurately track sales activities for MA appointments with both prospective and current beneficiaries
    • Participates in programs of professional self-development, continuous education and community involvement.
    • Uses personal vehicle for transportation to and from events and appointments
    • Performs additional duties as assigned

Work Experience

• Minimum two years sales experience or similar experience in a sales/broker environment. • Must have working knowledge of government regulations that affect the company compliance plan Preferred • Health care or insurance industry sales experience with an emphasis on Medicare products.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field or associate degree in Business Administration or related field and five years' experience in the health care or insurance industry. • Valid driver's license • CMS certification for Medicare sales • State of Michigan license to sell health insurance

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

• Self-motivated, highly organized and detail oriented as well as above average problem solving and analytical skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills • Ability to work well with others in a team setting and active in community activities and professional organizations • Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job.
