Under the supervision of the Supervisor for PE/Athletics, the Teaching Assistant works closely with the Athletic Director to prepare for athletic events. The Teaching Assistant is responsible for taking care of and maintaining facilities and equipment; laundering uniforms; maintaining inventories; reporting and following-up on facilities and equipment repair needs; preparing fields and courts for athletic practices and contests including setting up and taking down equipment; keeping storage rooms, locker rooms, equipment rooms, the weight room, Eagle's Nest and gyms clean and organized; getting vans and food ready for team travel. The teaching assistant assists coaches and physical education teachers when needed Performs other duties as assigned to meet the operational needs of the program.
Required Qualifications
1) Possession of strong program and people skills; 2) Respect for cultural diversity; 3) Proficiency in ASL; 4) Good command of written English; 5) Possession of strong computer skills. Incumbent must be fluent in American Sign Language .
