The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is currently accepting applications for full-time doctoral-level faculty researchers. A PhD, MD, or DO in Sciences or Medicine is required. Academic rank and compensation package will be commensurate with experience. Our research faculty is invested in conducting rehabilitation-focused research aimed at finding ways to improve the lives of people experiencing the impact of acute injuries and/or chronic conditions and disability. Current active focus areas include spinal cord injury, brain injury, musculoskeletal conditions, pediatric rehabilitation, neuropsychology, assistive technology, neural engineering, and regenerative rehabilitation research. Newly recruited faculty members will be responsible for developing an independent line of externally funded research that builds on or expands the department's current rehabilitation research portfolio. Additional responsibilities may also include contributing to the development of the department's research and educational programs, resident/medical student mentoring, and/or another department service/committee work. The successful candidate must have a doctoral-level degree and demonstrate organizational, communication, teaching, and leadership skills.

In addition to the qualifications above:
• Appointment at the Associate Professor level generally requires a minimum of 5 years of experience and demonstrated scholarly productivity in research, teaching, and/or administrative leadership and service.
• Appointment at the Full Professor level generally requires a minimum of 10 years of experience and the ability to demonstrate the attainment of superior stature and national/international reputation in their field of knowledge.

Evidence of scholarly productivity is required for appointment in the tenure stream, including teaching and academic service, publications in relevant peer-reviewed journals, and a history of successful funding acquisition. The primary requirement for conferral of tenure is an outstanding record of sustained independent scholarship across these various activities.
