Overview

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Physician Assistant to the OB/GYN group at NYC Health + Hospitals/ South Brooklyn Health. The Hospital is part of the NYC Health + Hospitals System (NYCHHC). South Brooklyn Health is a redesigned health care campus featuring the new 11-floor Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital which provides emergency care, modern labor & delivery suites, and state-of-the-art surgical services. The new Health & Wellness Institute offers outpatient services-from primary and preventive care to specialty services for children and adults-all designed to keep our community healthy and accommodates more than 250,000 outpatient visits, more than 89,000 emergency room visits, and with 371 beds, more than 15,000 inpatient admissions annually.

The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Medical Center and NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.

Opportunity Details

The Physician Assistant will work in our Women's Health Clinic

Daytime schedule-New Grads Welcome!

  • Attend to clinics for women's health specialties
  • Inpatient coverage, consults and OR assistance as need
  • Perform history and physical examinations
  • Order diagnostic tests based on assessments, Develop treatment plans and prescribe drugs and other therapies as needed
  • Consult with supervising medical provider when appropriate
  • Counsel patients and families regarding care
  • Review and respond to referrals from within and outside the clinic
  • Precept, evaluate and mentor physician assistant students rotating through the assigned clinics as needed


Qualifications

  • Current NYS registration as a Physician Assistant
  • Current certification issued by the NCCPA
  • Cultural sensitivity to a diverse and under-served patient population
  • Must have proven ability to work in a team environment
