Position Summary
* Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM position in a fast-paced environment
* Primary role is to be physician extender/subst itute for minor procedures
• Assist in the performance of direct patient care services, including inpatient consults and inpatient rounding
• Schedule patients for procedures including pre-authorizat ions, working with other facilities to coordinate procedures as needed, processing orders, sending reports back to referring doctors
• Perform physical examinations, determine medical histories, diagnose, and treat illnesses and/or injuries
• Order and interpret laboratory and radiographic studies
• Perform or assist procedures such as: paracentesis and thoracentesis
• Perform image guided IV access
• Develop and implement patient management plans and record progress notes
• Perform history and physical examinations of radiology patients
• Field phone calls from patients, referring physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals regarding patients to identify potential areas of concern in the medical management of the patients
• Educate patients on their medical care
• Other duties as assigned
LOCAL PRACTICE AND COMMUNITY OVERVIEW
Radiology Partners in North Houston is seeking a full-time, certified, Physician Assistant to join our expanding practice and service line at two Level II trauma centers in the North Houston area. The ideal candidate will be proficient in providing procedure-base d radiology services in both hospital and clinic-based practice setting, such services to include but not limited to pre-procedure evaluation and preparation of patients undergoing interventional or other image guided radiologic procedures, evaluation of patients in consultation, inpatient hospital rounds, and long-term patient follow-up. The candidate will represent the practice in interactions with hospital staff, referring clinicians, patients, and the health care community in general. We have an established infra-structur e for efficient, collaborative workflow throughout our practice.

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the state of Texas preferred
• Graduate of an AMA accredited program
• Certification by the National Commission of Physician Assistants
• One year Physician Assistant experience preferred
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
