Optum is looking for a Wound Care Physician or NP/PA to join our team in Covina, CA. This collegial group is searching for an experienced physician to join this well-established practice. The ideal physician would have 2+ years of experience in wound care, with experience treating wounds from head to toe. Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Urgent Care, or Emergency Medicine Physician with experience in treating wounds would be desired. This is a strictly outpatient role with a manageable patient load and Monday through Friday schedule.

Position Details:

  • Monday through Friday 8 am-5 pm schedule; outpatient only

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manageable patient load with 30 minutes allotted per patient
  • Managing and treating complex wounds from head to toe
  • Educating and working in collaboration with PCP's and/or urgent care providers to prevent unnecessary ED transfers

Required Qualifications:

  • Board Certified MD/DO or APRN/PA-C active and unrestricted license
  • Active CA Medical License or ability to obtain prior to employment
  • Ideal candidate would have 2+ years of experience in wound care
  • Will also consider clinicians from a surgical, emergency medicine, urgent care or inpatient environment who are looking to have a more manageable schedule or willing to learn about wound care and performing serial debridement services


California Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $122,819 to $152,284 annually. Salary Range is defined as total cash compensation at target. The actual range and pay mix of base and bonus is variable based upon experience and metric achievement. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
