Position Summary:

The Coordinator will be under the general supervision and coordinate the dissemination of information to referring/requesting physicians. They will assess the needs of the referring/requesting physician and contact the appropriate attending physician and other hospital personnel. Shift- 40 per week, Day Shift, 10-hour shift 7:00 am- 5:30 pm, weekend work is required.

Education:

Work requires administrative skills and technical training acquired in two years of college or equivalent work experience-medical terminology required.

Required Work Experience:

Some experience with computer data entry and word processing.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Work requires a comprehensive knowledge of hospital and physician referral protocol and hospital policies and procedures, which are generally acquired during two to three years of related experience.
  • Analytical skills are required to resolve problems, obtain historical information to determine the specific type of physician service required, and provide physicians with information and assistance.
  • Good telephone etiquette and excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to liaise between referring physicians and JHH.
