Planner Coordinator will coordinate, schedule/assign to proper crews all electrical substation construction/maintenance projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Revise work schedules based on emergency list; match work

requests for forms containing appropriate substation materials/equipment. Review existing computer formats/reporting methods; initiate program enhancement revision; check/test data and resolve discrepancies. Create/distribute work schedules/packets for substation and contract crews. Plan, verify inventory, and order materials/equipment for substation construction/maintenance projects when needed.

Coordinate substation construction work with internal/external entities; field check job sites; coordinate capital budget for substation construction with engineering and/or budget area; determine material/equipment needed prior to construction. Contact internal/external personnel or contractors to coordinate schedules and resolve problems. Check material issued from substation storeroom; make adjustments due to material shortages. Develop/maintain a comprehensive/technical knowledge of the various operations performed for substation projects. Direct clerical staff or others in data entry of material requisitions/time sheets as needed. Operate division vehicle and radio. Perform other duties as directed.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

A valid driver's license from state of residence is required.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or Industrial Engineering

EXPERIENCE

At least 6 years of design experience related to substation/transmission or distribution electric systems, electric-based construction, maintenance, or operational field duties (substation/transmission preferred), OR 12 years of experience directly related to electric-based construction, maintenance, or operational field duties (substation/transmission preferred).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Must successfully complete NIMS training with one year of entering the job. Must be familiar with the computerized Work Management/Asset Management System. Must have a knowledge of substation construction/maintenance practices. Must have an occupationally significant combination of; ability to coordinate construction/maintenance projects; ability to orally communicate technical or operational information. Physical Demands: Works in office majority of time; occasionally outside. Requires sedentary work involving standing or walking for brief periods, exerting up to 20 pounds of force on a regular basis; and some dexterity in operating office equipment. Subject to utility construction hazards. The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing and speaking abilities.
