General Summary:
The Supply Chain Planner position provides the single point of contact between the assigned sites and Vendors. This individual's primary role is to assist with the critical day to day tactical procurement for their assigned sites. This position's specific responsibilities are to support all supply chain processes, specifically: raw material order management, Vendor communication, inventory management and master data integrity. In addition, managing intercompany orders as well as external orders to meet customer service levels and working capital targets for the business is critical. The position requires strong computer and analytical/critical thinking skills combined with the ability to deal with large amounts of quantitative data. This individual must have the ability to actively listen, efficiently troubleshoot problems and implement and communicate solutions in a timely manner.
Essential duties and Responsibilities:
• Aids in managing the supply chain to meet operating plans balancing service needs and costs
• Oversee raw material procurement and stock inventories at assigned locations.
• Review MRP output to create purchase orders, identify inventory and delivery exceptions.
• Regularly monitor and address Non-Working, Slow-Moving (NWSM) inventory. Resolution may involve: redeployment to another location, re-labeling to a co-spec, obtaining technical approval to consume, vendor return, modifying procurement strategy, etc.
• Build truckload deliveries to stocking points where possible based on material demand.
• Define plan to resolve issues short term and long term. Effectively communicate and collaborate with the global Sourcing team.
• Analyze and maintain data to create information on safety stock levels and forecasting requirements.
• Primary liaison with Vendors regarding transaction execution. This includes managing dates, quantities, lead times, etc.
• Evaluate/incorporate/generate ideas for new SAP technology to improve overall operations (i.e. forecasting, reorder point, needed reports/capabilities, etc.).
